As our Young Friends grow old enough to understand the world around them, we invite them to act in service through a week-long trip with fellow high schoolers. Offered every few years, these trips take place in a variety of locations needing aid and with which we have a working relationship: the Lakota Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, the Appalachian community in rural West Virginia, and a small community in Costa Rica. Trips are led by parent volunteers and consist of meeting people within these communities, learning about the local culture, assisting with home repairs or whatever is needed at the time, and sharing experiences through daily worship sharing within the group.
